Editorial rules

Figures on water, waste, emissions and labour come from named sources such as UN agencies, the European Commission or peer-reviewed studies, and where those sources diverge both are given. Second Seam attributes no words to celebrities, designers, models or campaigners it has not spoken to. Its care and stain-removal advice is general: the label sewn into a garment, and a specialist cleaner for anything valuable or fragile, take precedence.

Who owns what

The articles belong to Second Seam. Photos are by other photographers and institutions, under CC0, public-domain status or Creative Commons Attribution licences, and are credited individually on the photo credits page. Labels and brands named in the guides keep their trademarks; none has paid to appear.

Privacy

The magazine uses no cookies, no web analytics and no ad tech, and its fonts are hosted on the same domain. Cloudflare logs technical request data such as IP addresses to protect and run the service.
